Cedar Springs school worker charged with soliciting illicit images of students

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Cedar Springs Public Schools employee has been charged for allegedly soliciting inappropriate images of students.

Riley Matthew Glover, 20, of Rockford, was arraigned in 63rd District Court Tuesday morning on one count of child sexually abusive activity and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.

Judge Kirsten Holz granted Glover a $100,000 personal recognizance bond. That means he won’t have to post any money to be released from jail but would have to pay $100,000 if he violates the conditions of his release.

According to court documents, a high school student went to the Cedar Springs school resource officer after she received a message from Glover soliciting illicit images. When investigators searched Glover’s phone, they found child pornography and evidence he tried to pay for child pornography.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said Glover, who worked as a school auditorium technician, used fake social media accounts and that he was reaching out to female students, saying he would pay for illicit images.

The sheriff’s office said it worked with the district during its investigation.

Earlier this year, a separate Cedar Springs school employee was arrested on child porn charges. Local students do not appear to have been involved in that case. The worker, Mark Labelle, did not work with students.
