GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This year’s Christmas tree is being installed at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids on Tuesday.
The 36-foot Concolor fir was harvested from the city’s Indian Trials Golf Course due to planned grounds renovations, according to the city of Grand Rapids.
This year’s tree sponsors include Charlie and Elizabeth Secchia and family, Rockford Construction and the city.
The public is invited to the official tree-lighting ceremony, which will coincide with the annual Gentex Grand Rapids Santa Claus Parade at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.
The Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink, located at 135 Monroe Center St. NW, is planned to open for the season on Dec. 5, weather permitting. It will remain open daily until Feb. 22. Hours and changes due to weather will be posted on the rink’s Facebook page.
