GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Three weeks remain in the high school football regular season as conference titles are up for grabs and important playoff points are needed.

Here’s a quick look at our Football Frenzy spotlight games for Week 7.

GRAND RAPIDS CATHOLIC CENTRAL COUGARS (5-1) AT NORTHVIEW WILDCATS (6-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

It has been more than 45 years since the Northview football team has had a season like this.

The Wildcats are unbeaten through the first six games of the season for the first time since 1977. Their high-powered offense is averaging 47 points per game and has already scored more points (282) in a season since 2018 and second all-time.

The Wildcats’ only tightly-contested game was against East Grand Rapids, a 31-27 win.

Catholic Central will present Northview with its greatest challenge to date as the Cougars are the defending Division 5 state champions. Their only loss came against Pontiac Notre Dame Prep in Week 3.

The Cougars remained perfect in conference play last week as they pulled away from previously unbeaten Holland Christian to grab a 42-18 win.

The winner will earn at least a share of the O-K Black conference title.

FOREST HILLS EASTERN HAWKS (5-1) AT GRAND RAPIDS WEST CATHOLIC FALCONS (4-2)

Friday, 7 p.m.

The O-K White conference has two remaining unbeatens and two of them will vie Friday night to stay in first place. The winner will claim at least a share of the conference championship.

Forest Hills Eastern has won three straight games following its lone loss of the season to undefeated Unity Christian in Week 3, while West Catholic also has won three in a row after falling to South Christian.

The Falcons’ two losses have come by a combined 10 points. They are averaging 36 points per game. The Hawks’ defense has been stingy, allowing a touchdown or less in four of their five wins.

GRANDVILLE BULLDOGS (3-3) AT HUDSONVILLE EAGLES (5-1)

Friday, 7 p.m.

After a season-opening loss, Hudsonville has won five in a row and is in the drivers’ seat in the O-K Red conference with three games remaining.

The Eagles are one game ahead of Grandville in the conference race. The Bulldogs have won three straight conference games over Jenison, Grand Haven and East Kentwood after starting the season 0-3.

Grandville is one of the top scoring teams in the area, with junior running back Jayden Terry, but has allowed 34 points per game on defense.

Hudsonville’s success has been attributed to a stout defense. The Eagles, who haven’t had a winning season since 2020, have only allowed 79 points (13 points per game) this season.

Grandville defeated Hudsonville twice last season by a combined total of eight points.
