GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — It’s no secret that Dan Campbell is a fiery guy. So, you can imagine the energy levels in the Lions’ locker room after Thursday night’s 34-31 win over the Packers.

The Lions’ social media team posted the coach’s postgame locker room speech to YouTube Friday morning. In true Dan Campbell fashion, it starts with a fist pump, a scream and an expletive.

“I told you you’d never forget this game. You will never forget this (expletive) game,” Campbell said.

He credited the defense for stepping up despite notable injuries, and for the offense and special teams for picking up the slack and keeping pace with Green Bay.

“That’s the way to show up. You talk about pressure? We live in pressure. That’s where we freaking thrive. You did it again,” he said. “It doesn’t matter who is playing for us. It doesn’t matter what is going on. You always find a way to win. That’s what (expletive) champions do.

“This is not happenstance, man. This didn’t just (expletive) happen. This has been in the making, man. This has been in the making. We are all supposed to be here together. We are destined for this. Just stay the course.”

Tim Patrick, who caught two touchdown passes, his first since 2021, got a game ball. So did Jake Bates for hitting yet another game-winning field goal.

The Lions get some extra time off before their next game. Detroit (12-1) will host Buffalo (10-2) on Sunday, Dec. 15. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS.
