GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week on “To The Point,” three of your U.S. Representatives are sharing their thoughts about the escalation of hostilities in the Middle East.
“This is certainly an escalation, a serious escalation. The United States takes it seriously. An attack on a democratic ally Israel is an attack on all democracies,” Rep. Hillary Scholten, D-Grand Rapids, said.
While Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Caledonia, says that Iran is involved.
“Well, it’s clearly an escalation but you have to understand that Iran has been working through its proxies Hezbollah, Hamas the Houthis they have been aggressively targeting Israel,” he said.
Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton, agrees that Iran has been behind the attacks all along.
“Iran is behind all of this of this, as I‘m sure you know. So now Iran has been lobbing bombs occasionally but when ultimately Netanyahu and Israel take out the leadership of Hamas and Hezbollah, Iran feels like they have to react,” he said.
Congressional reaction to Iran bombing Israel plus we will look back at an election security forum all on this “To The Point” episode for the weekend of Oct. 5.
