GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week on “To The Point,” a rare open House seat is up for grabs in this election cycle.

Democrat Dr. Matt Longjohn and Republican Kelly Sackett are both running for the seat.

“As the only potential physician in the Legislature and as the only physician who has been in the Legislature with a prevention agenda, I aim to bring that understanding about reducing stress by making livable wages the things that everyone can expect,” Longjohn said.

“This time around, (voters are) done with not being able to afford to live the way that they have been used to living. So the gas and groceries issues (are) paramount. Second to that is safety and security in our neighborhoods,” Sackett said.

All that and more on this “To The Point” episode for the weekend of Oct. 19.
