Deputies: Semi-truck crashes into Hudsonville Subway

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — A semi-truck crashed into a restaurant in Hudsonville Thursday afternoon, deputies say.

It happened around 4:50 p.m. at the Subway at 3196 Corporate Grove Dr., near 32nd Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the semi-truck’s driver had parked on the south side of the business, then headed into a gas station. But the parking brake wasn’t properly set, according to the sheriff’s office, and the semi-truck started to roll down a slope.

“The semi rolled into a parked vehicle in the lot and then into the business,” deputies wrote in a release.

No injuries were reported, but the building was damaged and had to close.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
