COLFAX TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a 19-year-old was killed after an all-terrain vehicle rolled over in rural Oceana County, southwest of Baldwin.

The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 12 p.m. Saturday on E. Madison Road near the intersection of Maple Island Road in Colfax Township.

The driver of the ATV, a 31-year-old Grand Rapids man, was heading westbound on Madison Road when he lost control and it rolled over, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said that a 19-year-old back-seat passenger died from their injuries. That person’s name was not released.

The driver and another 19-year-old passenger received injuries that were not considered life-threatening and refused treatment, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash remains under investigation.
