GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Enjoy the final weekend before Thanksgiving, and the final weekend before the in-laws come to town, with these fun events all across West Michigan.

GR Griffins take on Iowa Wolves

Hockey fans are in for a treat this weekend as they will have a chance to see the Grand Rapids Griffins take on the Iowa Wolves two times.

The teams will battle on the ice on Friday and Sunday. Sunday’s game will serve as the Jake Engel Memorial Dog Game if you want to bring your furry friend to Van Andel Arena.

GR International Wine, Beer & Food Festival

For a 17th year, the Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer & Food Festival returns to DeVos Place.

It all kicks off Thursday and will feature more than 1,200 wines, beers, ciders and spirits from around the world for you to sample and find some new favorites.

Comic Book Trivia Night

Comic book fans, now is your chance to show off how much you really know at the Comic Signal.

The comic shop is hosting a trivia night Saturday to test people’s comic book knowledge. It’s $5 to enter and there will be prizes for the winners.

‘The Princess Bride’: An Inconceivable Evening

“The Princess Bride” hit theaters in 1987, but has been in people’s movie-watching rotation for years and you have a unique chance to catch the movie this Friday.

DeVos Performance Hall will show the movie and will then host a Q&A session with Westley himself as actor Cary Elwes will be in attendance.

Kalamazoo Kick-Off Classic

What started in 1999 with just 11 teams has grown to one of the largest synchronized skating competitions in the country.

The Kalamazoo Kick-Off Classic will be held at the Wings Event Center Friday through Sunday and will feature nearly 150 teams competing from across the Midwest and even Canada.

Nothing says the holidays like a parade and there’s one coming to Kalamazoo this weekend to help get you in the right spirit.
