Confluence 2024
The fourth annual Confluence Festival is back starting Friday.
The event brings the latest innovations in technology, art, music and more to Grand Rapids for people to enjoy at no cost to them. There will be a robotics and esports competition going on as well.

Also kicking off on Friday is the annual Grand Rapids Film Festival.
See some of the works created by local filmmakers throughout the festival and also see what they can come up with during the 24-hour challenge on Saturday.

ArtPrize
ArtPrize 2024 continues in Grand Rapids this weekend.
From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, ArtPrize will hold a “HalfTime” event at Studio Park at which it will announce the top 100 entries so far. Despite that announcement, you can still vote for any entry for the duration of the competition, which runs through Sept. 28.
“HalfTime” will also feature a performance from The Pack Drumline.

Michigan Cannabis Convention
DeVos Place will host the Michigan Cannabis Conference Friday and Saturday.
The conference is designed to help local cannabis companies and entrepreneurs build their businesses with opportunities to network and seminars to learn from. There will be more than 200 exhibits and 50 speakers at the event.

Grand Rapids Plays
The importance of children having the chance to play outside will be on full display this Saturday at Congress Elementary.
That’s where the 2024 Grand Rapids Plays event will take place. From 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., kids can participate in drum circles, mindfulness, yoga, art and other activities. The idea is to help promote children learning outside of the classroom and the benefits they have.

West Side Donut Dash
Blandford Nature Center is the site for this year’s West Side Donut Dash 5K.
Starting at 9 a.m., people of all ages can run their own race at their own pace on Saturday. You’ll get to run through the trails and get a donut for all of your hard work at the end.

If you are an owner of a Labrador or golden retriever and you want to meet other dog parents, you’re in luck.
Paws With A Cause is hosting Retriever Fever at Riverside Park on Saturday. You can meet and play with other retrievers in the community. There will also be treats for dogs and humans at the event.

Celebrate our neighbors to the north this Saturday at Arcadia Creek Festival Place in Kalamazoo this Saturday with Canadiana.

The National Street Rod Association is heading to Kalamazoo this weekend and there’s plenty to check out.
