EGELSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say they tracked down the suspect in a Muskegon County stabbing in Detroit.

The stabbing happened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Egelston Township, according to the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say a known suspect stabbed a man several times during an altercation on the 4000 block of E Laketon Avenue, near Brooks Road. But when deputies arrived on scene, the suspect was gone.

The suspect was eventually found in Detroit and taken into custody by local police officers, deputies say. They are now awaiting arraignment in Muskegon County’s 60th District Court, according to the sheriff’s office. The office did not release the suspect’s gender, age or name Friday.

“The Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Detroit Police Department for their assistance,” deputies wrote in a release.
