GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A passenger plane slid off of a taxiway Wednesday night at Cherry Capitol Airport in Traverse City.
According to airport officials, it happened shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday. American Airlines Flight 5924, coming in from Chicago, landed safely, but slid off of the taxiway while turning.
There were 44 passengers and three crew members aboard the plane at the time. No one was injured and all passengers were shuttled to the terminal.
The wintry weather that swept across much of Michigan Wednesday night continued to impact air travel Thursday. Cherry Capitol Airport reported several delays and cancellations for both inbound and outbound flights.
Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Cascade Township also reported some delays, but most flights are still flying on time as of Thursday morning.
