GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — To stop drivers from getting behind the wheel while under the influence, AAA is offering free rides home over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The Auto Club Group’s “Tow to Go” program offers rides within a 10-mile radius for would-be drivers and their cars. The service is designed as a last resort, a safety net for drivers who did not plan ahead. Rides can’t be scheduled in advance.

“Tow to Go” will launch at 6 p.m. Wednesday and continue through 6 a.m. Monday. It’s available in Michigan and certain other states, and it’s free for everyone, regardless of whether you’re an AAA member.
