GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — If you’ve noticed some unusual lights in the sky near Grand Rapids recently, no need to call in a UFO sighting.
The beam-like lights projecting into the sky can be traced to Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. They’re part of a new winter light extravaganza called ENLIGHTEN, which the gardens have been testing ahead of opening night on Nov. 27.
In a social media post, the gardens wrote:
“Fear not! Those glowing lights are not extraterrestrial visitors: They are simply our team making final preparations on the dazzling light features for the debut of our inaugural ENLIGHTEN winter light extravaganza!
“If you see lights flickering in the night sky? Don’t grab your tin foil hats just yet. Instead, get ready for a magical holiday season filled with wonder and joy. We can’t wait to share these exciting new experiences with you!”
The ENLIGHTEN show will run on select evenings through Jan. 4. More information on the display and tickets can be found on the Frederik Meijer Gardens website.
