GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is facing charges for embezzling thousands of dollars from a local Saladin Shriners organization, the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Richard Ivan Williams is facing three counts of embezzlement over $100,000 and three charges of embezzlement of $50,000 but less than $100,000, the prosecutor’s office said. The embezzlement over $100,000 charges are felonies punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $50,000 or three times the amount embezzled, whichever is greater and the later felony charges are punishable by a maximum of 15 years and/or a fine of $25,000, or three times the amount embezzled, whichever is greater.

The prosecutor’s office said that the earliest charge stems from an incident in 2019 and the latest happened in July.

His arraignment date hasn’t been released.
