CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a Detroit woman was arrested in a stolen car after a high-speed chase through multiple counties.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said shortly before 2 a.m. Monday, it received a report of a break-in at Comodo Motors on Broadmoor Avenue SE near the intersection of 84th Street in Caledonia Township.

The owner told News 8 that the thieves arrived in three vehicles with fake license plates, two of which were stolen from a Ziegler dealership. He told deputies he witnessed multiple suspects stealing cars on live surveillance video.

When deputies arrived, five vehicles were seen leaving the dealership. Three were confirmed stolen from Comodo: 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye with a wide body in B5 Blue (one of 148 cars produced that year in B5 Blue), a black 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and a black 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX. A black Dodge Challenger and a white Jeep were also presumed stolen, according to a news release. The owner told News 8 that one of the vehicles stolen from Ziegler was left behind.

The vehicles drove away, heading northbound toward M-6. Deputies used stop sticks on Broadmoor, partially disabling the Blue Challenger. The car continued until stopping near M-6 and I-96, where the suspect got out and entered the white Jeep, according to the sheriff’s office.

The chase, which exceeded speeds of 100 mph, went into Ionia County, where deputies lost sight of the white Jeep and black Corvette. However, a 19-year-old Detroit woman was arrested and the black Dodge Ram was found, the sheriff’s office said. Her name was not released.

The stolen Corvette was later found unoccupied in Livington County in southeastern Michigan, according to the news release.
