KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A person was found dead inside a home after firefighters put out a house fire in Kalamazoo, police say.

Around 9:11 p.m. Sunday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was called to Clayborne Drive at S Drake Road for a fire.

Crews were able to put the fire out, but one person was found dead inside the home, KDPS said. The person was not identified.

It’s not clear what caused the fire, but KDPS is investigating.
