GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — New renderings of the planned Sullivan Field restoration have been released.

Fans of Valley Field has been working for years to revitalize the iconic ballpark on Grand Rapids’ West Side. On Friday, the group shared new renderings of the project with News 8.

The ballpark, which dates back to the 1930s, has fallen into disrepair over the decades, but Fans of Valley intends to restore it and create a space for the community.

Construction on a multi-million dollar restoration project kicked off in October 2023 but was put on pause this spring when crews found problems with the grandstands. A few months later, Fans of Valley Field announced the grandstands could be saved after all, but the project would be more expensive than originally anticipated.
