GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As we inch closer and closer to the 32nd annual Grand Rapids Public Schools Turkey Trot, organizers are already celebrating reaching its fundraising goal.

The goal was to raise at least $100,000 for GRPS Athletics. As of Nov. 19, that goal had been reached. Officials have also said that the signups for the race are promising and we could see last year’s record of 5,834 participants broken.

The race is held to help ensure that students in GRPS will have the opportunity to participate in athletics.

There will be a new route this year for runners. Instead of running west to Division Avenue, they’ll take a left and head north on Ionia Avenue. The race will still begin and finish in front of Van Andel Arena.

There is still time to sign up for the GRPS Turkey Trot. Click here to learn more.
