GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Surprise! Your groceries are paid for. That’s the message shoppers heard in a Grand Rapids grocery store checkout line.
Nonprofits Food Hugs and Mitten Foundation started its surprise grocery giveaway Wednesday night. Their first stop was Ralph’s on Leonard Street. The two groups paid for up to $2,000 worth of groceries.
The organizations are also looking for donors to match so they can do it all month long. If you’d like to donate, visit the Food Hugs website.
