GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Rosa Parks Circle ice rink in downtown Grand Rapids opened for the winter season Friday morning.

The rink had been scheduled to open Thursday, but the city said cold and snowy weather led it to reschedule. Instead, skating began at 10 a.m. Friday.

It costs $6 for adults and $3 for children 17 and younger. That includes skate rentals. The rink is also offering a 10-hole punch card for those who plan to skate multiple times for $16.

The ice rink is expected to be open until Feb. 22. Hours and any disruptions to the season will be posted on the rink’s Facebook page.

The city also had to delay the rink’s opening last year due to uncooperative weather. In that case, the problem was that it was too warm.
