GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kansas City artist who is in Grand Rapids for ArtPrize says someone stole some of his artwork.

Marv Graff’s display, called “I’ll Be Swan,” is set up in the JW Marriott. Graff says he took a break Sunday for a little bit and when he came back, the crown on the swan was gone.

Graff said he travels all over the world looking for inspiration for his pieces so everything is one of a kind and can’t be duplicated. This particular piece is dedicated to his grandmother.

Hotel staff is working with him and handed over surveillance video over to police, Graff said.

News 8 reached out to police just after 5 p.m. Tuesday, but has not heard back.

“And that’s why it’s so special. And it’s all about the vision, and the whole piece is like an installation and it’s like a garden scene in a park anywhere with the carousel, and the swan in the pond,” explained Graff.
