LEIGHTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — No one was injured when a vehicle was hit by a train near Wayland Tuesday evening, according to deputies.
It happened around 4:45 p.m. on 140th Avenue just west of Division Avenue in Leighton Township, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said. According to deputies, a vehicle headed east did not stop at the railroad crossing stop sign and was hit by a train headed north.
No injuries were reported, deputies said. 140th Avenue was closed between 12th Street and Division Street after the crash.
It’s being investigated by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.
