GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD) — The Wolverines will take on a familiar opponent in their New Year’s Eve bowl game.
Michigan will play Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida. The game is slated for a noon kickoff on Dec. 31.
It’s the third time in six seasons Michigan and Alabama are playing each other in a bowl game. Most recently, the Wolverines beat Alabama in the 2023 College Football Playoff semifinal.
Both programs have a handful of starters projected to go to the NFL Draft. Those players may opt out of the bowl game to prepare.
