BIGGBY Coffee’s B the One 5K brings out hundreds in support of mental health

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Hundreds of families walked thousands of steps in support mental health awareness.

On Sunday BIGGBY Coffee hosted its 4th Annual B the One 5K Walk/Run in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month – raising awareness surrounding mental health issues and mobilizing local efforts in support of people who are struggling.

The event was held at the Grant Pavilion in Millennium Park, where more than 450 participants hit the pavement to move in solidarity with families who have lost a loved one by suicide and advocate for suicide prevention programs.

Hundreds of dollars in donations were raised to benefit iunderstand love heals, a nonprofit organization offering compassionate comfort for those affected by suicide or mental/brain health illness and pain.
