Meghan Bunchman

Meghan Bunchman joined News 8 as an anchor and reporter in March 2022. She is no stranger to West Michigan.

She has been breaking stories in the West Michigan area for a decade. Prior to joining the WOOD TV8 team, Meghan was the news director and anchor at WOOD Radio after she worked at another TV station in town.

Meghan is known for her street-smart reporting style. With more than 13 years of newsroom experience, Meghan has refined her storytelling skills and can command a room both in front of and behind the camera.

She started her career in the sports department at KUSI San Diego. Since then, Meghan has reported from Chicago, Washington D.C., Michigan, and Wisconsin. In addition to reporting the news, Meghan works as a professor of journalism at Grand Valley State University.

She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. During her undergraduate studies, Meghan enjoyed the sun and warmth of California while earning her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of San Diego.

When she’s not breaking news or holding down the anchor desk, Meghan serves on the board of West Michigan Environmental Action Council (more commonly known as WMEAC) and volunteers at local pet shelters.

In the warmer months, she can be found sailing with her husband and two kids near Saugatuck. She also enjoys exploring local farmers markets, hiking trails and community yoga classes.
