Lainey Gerber joined News 8 as a sports reporter in February 2024.
She came to WOOD TV8 from KSNT, our sister station in Topeka, Kansas. She’s originally from Southern California and received her degree in sports media from Oklahoma State University. Lainey has enjoyed moving from state to state with her career.
Lainey has gotten to travel to even more states while covering the University of Kansas, Kansas State and the Kansas City Chiefs. She covered KU through its 2022 men’s basketball national championship, multiple Chiefs Super Bowl wins, bowl games and more.
Lainey enjoyed delivering the ins the outs of Kansas sports and is excited to do the same in West Michigan.
In her free time, Lainey loves to play sand volleyball, ride horses and watch Kobe Bryant highlights. Feel free to send her your Beer City recommendations!
