Elena Cousino joined the News 8 team in January of 2023 as a multimedia journalist in training.
Originally from St. Clair, Michigan, Elena is excited to explore all that West Michigan has to offer.
Elena studied broadcast journalism at Michigan State University and graduated in December of 2022. During the summer and last semester of her senior year, Elena worked at WLNS, WOOD TV8’s sister station in Lansing, as a reporter. She covered everything from COVID-19 vaccines for toddlers to rallies held at the state Capitol.
Elena is passionate about informing the community, meeting new people and telling impactful and inspiring stories.
She enjoys exploring local businesses, playing volleyball, hiking and watching hockey.
