Demetrios Sanders joined News 8 as a reporter in January 2023. A metro Detroit native, he is excited to return to his home state and tell the stories of West Michigan.
Demetrios attended Southgate Anderson High School before graduating from Central Michigan University in 2017 with a degree in broadcasting and cinematic arts. Fire Up!
Before joining WOOD TV8, he most recently worked as a reporter at the CBS/FOX affiliate in Peoria, Illinois. He also worked as a multimedia journalist at the NBC/ABC affiliate in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he covered the COVID-19 pandemic and the reinstatement of the federal death penalty. He also filled in on the sports desk at both stations.
When he’s not at work, you can find Demetrios rooting for the Tigers, Pistons, Central Michigan Chippewas and Michigan Wolverines. He also enjoys trying out new restaurants and spending time with friends and family.
