Adriana Doria joined News 8 as a reporter in July 2024. Adriana was born and raised in Troy, Michigan, and is thrilled to be reporting close to home.
Before joining the News 8 team, Adriana was a multimedia journalist in Charleston, West Virginia. In that role, she reported on the topics and issues impacting viewers in parts of West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. She had the opportunity to interview West Virginia native and country music star Brad Paisley, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, as well as many city mayors, law enforcement officers and residents in the area on the stories most important to the Tri-State.
Adriana graduated magna cum laude from the Honors Program at American University in Washington, D.C., with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and communication, law, economics and government. While at American University, Adriana immersed herself in journalism, reporting for her university’s newspaper and television station, and has never looked back. She also had the opportunity to cover the Pennsylvania midterm elections with one of her classes, interviewing local politicians and voters in the area.
Adriana was awarded a journalism scholarship from the D.C. chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists and the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation for her achievements in and her commitment to student journalism. Additionally, she founded a communications fraternity on her campus known as Zeta Phi Eta and served as its president for two terms.
While in D.C., Adriana interned at Fox News Media on Capitol Hill and with multiple of their news shows. She also served as a news intern at FOX 5 DC. While holding these internship positions, she was able to learn from industry professionals and gain hands-on journalism experience.
When she is not reporting, you can find Adriana trying new restaurants or cooking and baking at home. She also has a love for all things arts, but especially loves seeing Broadway musicals and local theater performances.
Adriana is excited to tell the stories impacting West Michigan! She can be reached at adriana.doria@woodtv.com.
