GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- The holidays are approaching, and West Michigan can ring in the festive season at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market!
Starting Friday, Nov. 15, the Christkindl Markt makes its grand return, offering a magical experience to visitors of all ages through Monday, Dec. 23.
The Downtown Market will transform into a European-inspired Christmas market filled with unique products, holiday entertainment and family fun.
“We’re really excited,” said Karen Carpenter, general manager of the Christkindl Markt. “It’s a great way for us to celebrate with the community. We’re celebrating the holidays, but we’re also celebrating together. There’s a lot of different things you can come here and enjoy.”
According to the Downtown Markt, over 60 artisan gift and food vendors will showcase handmade products, from clothing and textiles to ornaments, jewelry and cuisine, creating the perfect opportunity for holiday shopping.
In addition to shopping, visitors can enjoy live caroling, visits from Santa, and seasonal activities like outdoor curling and private Alpenglobes rentals, adding even more joy to the holiday season.
It’s all about spreading holiday cheer!
“The Christkindl Markt is a fun way to get people together outside during the holidays, to enjoy where we live, and to support local vendors, musicians, and artisans in our community,” said Melissa DeVos, former board member of the Downtown Market. “My family and I enjoyed the inaugural season last year and look forward to returning this year – making it a new part of our Christmas tradition!”
