GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- Maranda’s friends from School News Network consistently spotlight impactful stories, initiatives and individuals at local schools!

Today’s story takes us inside Cedar Springs High School, where students can receive unique hands-on education in Media, Video and Television Production.

In their courses, they acquire skills in videography, editing, and publishing content, which they can apply to future careers.

“Being able to film, edit, be creative, and tell a story at the same time is incredibly rewarding for what they’re going to do for our community and our society as a whole, said Justin Harnden, TV & video production teacher at Cedar Springs High School.

Recently, a few seniors took on a special project to create a sports documentary inspired by NFL Films’ “Hard Knocks” training camp series.

The students’ documentary, “DRIVEN,” highlights Cedar Springs High School’s football team.

Since publishing the first episode, the students have continued to receive positive feedback from the community, proving hard work surely pays off.

“It’s really cool to see what me and my team can do. Editing the piece and making it look like a professional documentary series,” a student said.
