GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)– Halloween is quickly approaching, and many kids are gearing up to collect tons of candy while trick-or-treating around West Michigan!
Maranda’s friends at Pediatric Dental Specialists of West Michigan share advice for determining which sweet treats to add to your child’s Halloween baskets and the candies to avoid.

They recommend avoiding sticky candies such as gummies, lollipops and Jolly Ranchers, to name a few, due to their ability to coat our teeth with an invisible film of sugar that is extremely hard to remove, often leading to cavities.
Recommended alternatives include chocolate, fruit pouches and non-sticky treats. Learn more during Maranda’s visit, and make it a fun Halloween, “Where You Live!”
