GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- Saturday, Nov. 9, was an exciting day at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park!
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore hosted its 3rd Annual Girl Scout Leadership Conference, empowering Girl Scouts in grades 5-12 to discover, soar, and build courage, confidence and character.
“We are working on discovering new interests,” said Vivian Termaat with Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore. “When we discover new interests, we build self-esteem. That’s how girls can go off into the future and forge a path that is uniquely their own. Girl Scouts is just the vehicle for which they discover those gifts.”
During the event, hundreds of Girl Scouts across the state had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with one another, learn from women mentors in leadership, and participate in Q&A sessions to earn a special “Forge Your Path” limited-edition patch.
