GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- Thursday is an exciting day at Celebration Cinema North in Grand Rapids!

The 13th Annual Mosaic Film Experience, an annual event and educational platform, has returned to inspire today’s youth to become tomorrow’s storytellers.

Over 300 local high school students will embark on an insightful and empowering day as they hear from “an eclectic group of speakers from the world of digital media, entertainment, and tech,” sharing insight on their respective career paths and “lessons they have learned along the way,” a description reads.

This year’s theme is “Power of Possible,” which reminds youth that they have the power to achieve their wildest dreams.

“Especially in this day and age, we just want to make sure that we can spark those creative journeys and show where our students can take themselves,” said Elizabeth, event staff.

One guest speaker who will remind students of professional possibilities is Peter Chhum, senior manager of social media strategy at MasterClass, former social media strategy manager at Nickelodeon and a proud WOOD TV8 alum!

Chhums journey from working in West Michigan to Los Angeles, CA, is remarkable and a true testament that every professional experience will supply you with the skills, tools and confidence needed to reach new heights.

“Growing up here, I was always nervous that I didn’t have enough skills, or I didn’t have enough opportunities to get to where I wanted to go,” said Chhum. “I think what’s important to learn is that every step of the way, you’re picking up skills that you’re going to be using. Everything’s a step forward.”

This realization equipped Chhum with confidence throughout his day-to-day.

During the Mosaic Film Experience, he aims to remind students that anything is possible, even if they sometimes believe otherwise.
