GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- Many of us may know one, know the sacrifices they’ve made in serving our country, and are proud to celebrate them. They are our Veterans, and they deserve to be honored beyond Veterans Day.
During this week’s episode of “Real Possibilities with AARP Michigan,” viewers can hear the heartwarming story of Angelena Taylor, a Miss USA World Universal Ambassador and the daughter of a local Veteran.
Taylor reflects on becoming a caregiver for her father, who suffered a stroke.
Despite several challenges associated with caregiving, Taylor’s experience caring for her dad has helped her discover her purpose. As a pageant talent, she’s used her platform to elevate the voices of caregivers across the nation.
“Being able to reach other people and show them that this is an important matter, and there’s ways to navigate your journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone-it’s given me a renewed purpose,” said Taylor.
