GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)-The holiday season often brings joy to many; however, it can also be an overwhelming time of year for families.
With countless events and gatherings underway, it’s easy to feel obligated to attend as many as possible, but it isn’t mandatory.
Alleviate the pressures of the holiday season! Leah Ewald, LMSW, from Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, joins Maranda to share tips.
Tips include, but are not limited to:
- Prioritizing family time and intentionally choosing specific events your family will enjoy most.
- Maintaining structure and a routine.
- Building a holiday survival kit, which can include bringing familiar items from home (food, games, toys, etc.) when traveling and attending holiday festivities.
- Practicing gratitude and serving others. Empower kids to give back by donating to special causes and organizations.
