HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — A Holland family’s Christmas tree that was stolen off their porch earlier this week has been returned.
Mark Micheli and his family had their Christmas tree stolen off their front porch just after midnight on Monday morning, they told News 8. On Saturday, he told News 8 that a neighbor saw the story on WOOD TV8 and realized a tree that was dropped off at her work belonged to him.
Micheli had left the tree outside on the porch still in its bag to surprise his children after he and his family had talked about setting up their Christmas decorations. Hours later, the tree was taken.
The theft was all caught on their home security camera. The alleged thief — wearing a blue hoodie and carrying what appears to be an Amazon package — is seen walking up the steps of the Micheli family’s porch, before snagging the tree bag and walking away.

Micheli noticed the tree was gone the next day.
It’s unclear how the tree ended up at their neighbor’s work, but it is now back at the Micheli home ready for Christmas.
