BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Months after a shooting in Battle Creek sent a man to the hospital, police say a suspect is now in custody.
The suspect was arrested Thursday in the area of Sherman Road and Central Street and was jailed on a charge of assault with intent to murder, according to the Battle Creek Police Department. Police did not release the suspect’s gender, age or name Thursday.
The shooting, which was not deadly, happened Aug. 25 near Cliff Street and Mott Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 39-year-old Battle Creek man with an apparent gunshot wound, BCPD said. The man was taken to the hospital.
At the time, police described the shooting as an isolated incident.
