GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An Ottawa County-based counseling nonprofit is expanding into Kent County.
Mosaic Counseling hopes to raise $1.3 million though its You Matter campaign.
“We are providing more services in Ottawa County, building up our capacity there; expanding services into Kent County … and then also focusing on youth through the school outreach program,” Mosaic Executive Director Sarah Lewakowski explained the campaign’s goals.
The youth outreach program sends therapists into schools to offer counseling that otherwise wouldn’t be available.
Mosaic already has a panel of about 255 therapists, about a dozen of which work with 27 schools in Ottawa County and one in Kent County.
The nonprofit aims to respond quickly to serve clients regardless of whether they have insurance.
“Anyone can reach out to us, and it doesn’t matter their insurance status. So it doesn’t matter if they have insurance, if they are underinsured, uninsured, they are all going to receive the same type of care, which is in a timely manner, and match to one of those therapists,” Lewakowski said. “If you reach your hand out to us, we are grabbing it. We’re grabbing it right away and providing that personalized service for you.”
So far, Mosaic has raised about $750,000 as part of the campaign.
