GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Detroit Lions have ripped off four straight wins, including Sunday’s 31-29 road victory against Minnesota. While the team has played well in all three phases of the game, no one has played better than Jared Goff.

Goff went 22 for 25 on Sunday, finishing with 280 yards, two touchdowns, no turnovers and a passer rating of 140.0. He had a passer rating of 153.8 one week earlier in Dallas and 155.8 in his “perfect” game against Seattle.

According to team officials, Goff is just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to post a passer rating of 140 or above in three consecutive games. The others are Aaron Rodgers (2011), Kurt Warner (1999) and Roger Staubach (1971).

Head coach Dan Campbell, as always, heaped praises on Goff for leading the team to yet another big road win.

“He’s a stud. He is,” Campbell said in his postgame press conference. “It goes back to (2021) when Brad (Holmes) and I acquired him. … He’s got arm talent. There’s no question. But it’s what he’s got here (pointing to his head) and here (pointing to his heart), and that’s what makes him a dangerous player.”

Campbell continued: “He will find a way to win. He will find a way to put the offense in position to win the game. He doesn’t get frazzled. He’s tough, he’s competitive, he’s reliable and I love the guy.”

Goff threw two touchdown passes Sunday. He found Amon-Ra St. Brown on a post pattern for a 35-yard score when the Vikings brought a cover zero blitz. That touchdown gave the Lions their first lead of the game after going down 10-0 early. In the third quarter, he found Kalif Raymond on an underneath crossing route who picked up a key block from Jahmyr Gibbs for a 21-yard touchdown catch and run.

Ever humble, Goff deflected a lot of the praise to his teammates and coaches.

“We’re getting guys open. We’re protecting well. We’re hitting them in stride and it’s just one play after another, trying to focus on each play,” Goff said in a postgame interview.

Next Sunday, Goff will face the Titans with a chance at history on the line, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to record a QB rating of 140 or better in four consecutive games. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
