GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- Family fun awaits this weekend in Holland, MI!
Beyond embracing Autumn during the City’s Annual Fall Fest, the community can join Holland Parks and Recreation for their annual “Community Tulip Planting Days!”

On Saturday, head to Window on the Waterfront to help plant 80,000 tulips in anticipation of the 96th Annual Tulip Time Festival,” returning May 3-11, 2025.

“It’s great anticipation,” Linda Hart from the Holland Area Visitors Bureau said. “We all know that we’re going to have beautiful blooms when we get to the spring, but it’s the work that the community does, and we invite everybody to come out and plant tulips.”
The community tulip plantings will occur from 8 a.m. to noon, and those interested in volunteering can sign up and select a time slot here.
The city will provide gardening tools and plenty of guidance.
“There’s over 800 volunteers that help not only plant this park but also the week of the festival, hosting guests from all over the world. It’s really a community effort, and we couldn’t do what we do without them,” Gwen Auwerda with Tulip Time said.
